Think Outside the Box
Film
Think Outside the Box is a symbolic short film that explores the invisible expectations placed upon women in contemporary society. The project uses a cat as a metaphorical protagonist, representing individuals who are constantly shaped, observed, and defined by external standards.
Throughout the film, the cat interacts with a series of boxes that function as symbols of social norms, labels, and restrictions. These spaces simultaneously offer comfort and confinement, reflecting the tension between belonging and self-expression. By presenting familiar experiences through metaphor rather than direct representation, the project examines how societal expectations can influence self-perception and personal identity.
Rather than offering a straightforward narrative, the film creates a visual language built upon symbolism, repetition, and atmosphere. Through this approach, the project invites viewers to reflect on the limitations imposed by social structures and the possibility of imagining life beyond them.
