Man in the Moon

Man in the Moon is a music video project inspired by themes of loneliness, longing, and emotional distance. Created in response to the song of the same name, the project explores the relationship between memory, imagination, and human connection through a poetic visual language.

The video was developed through a collaborative filmmaking process, combining performance, cinematography, editing, and visual storytelling. Rather than illustrating the lyrics directly, the project focuses on creating an emotional atmosphere that reflects the song's underlying mood. Through the use of light, composition, movement, and colour, the work seeks to translate music into visual experience.

Throughout the project, particular attention was given to pacing and rhythm. The editing process was shaped by the structure of the song, allowing visual transitions and imagery to respond to shifts in tone and emotion. The relationship between image and sound became central to the work, creating a dialogue between narrative fragments and musical expression.

Man in the Moon reflects my interest in how moving image can communicate emotion beyond words. By combining music and visual storytelling, the project creates a space where feelings of distance, reflection, and longing can be experienced through atmosphere rather than explanation.
